On Saturday 22nd September the Band’s Autumn Concert was held in the Village Hall. The first half on the Concert was to commemorate the end of World War 1 and featured audio and visual items and with the choice of music which included traditional Marches of the time and the beautiful ‘In Flanders fields’ by Gavin Somerset made for an atmospheric and moving experience. We had some lovely comments from the audience too.
"The RAF March Past was played so brilliantly, I was transported to the Royal Albert Hall and could envisage the servicemen marching down the steps"
"It was very moving - a fitting tribute"
The B Band played four pieces including the Dads Army theme and Hey Jude which demonstrated how they can play more difficult music with great confidence.
The third section of the evening was an eclectic mix of music including Classic rock, a Tudor Pavane and a TV sitcom theme demonstrates the versatility of a Brass Band. We showcased a number of the bands soloists, too.Thank you to everyone who attended our Concert it is always lovely to see so many old friends and new faces.
