As part of our fundraising efforts to celebrate our 100th birthday next year, a number of players took part in sponsored walk that recreated a key moment in the history of the band. In 1920 the founder of the Band (who was also the Landlord of local pub) travel to the Red Cow in Chesterton to purchase a set of instruments for the grand total of £10! They brought them back to the village on a horse and cart.
Eleven of our players recreated some or all of that trip - and two of those did it running!! Well done to Ken and Bridget, who were our runners, and Rebecca, Isla, Paul, Val, Megan, Liz, Lynsey, Mik and Della who walked the trip.
