The Band held its first Concert of the year on 23rd April in the Village Hall. The music for this concert was chosen by previous audiences so was very varied from Baroque to a 70s classic and was a lot of fun to rehearse and play. The wonderful B Band played four pieces including the most difficult piece they have ever played - Mars from Holst Planet Suite and they did brilliantly! Thank you to everyone who came along to support us – we love seeing so many familiar faces.

At last it looks like the seasons are changing which means we are looking forward to our summer season. We will be playing at Duns Tew, Boarstall and Kirtlington in June. These Fetes are long standing engagements for the Band and we love playing outdoors with the hustle and bustle of a Village Fete especially if the weather is good – not so enjoyable if it’s raining and the gazebo we are sheltering under gets blown away but the Band always plays on regardless of the weather.!

Date for the Diary - Our next concert will be on Sunday 16th July, which, with the British summer weather permitting, will take place on the courtyard outside the hall. There will be performances from both our bands along with refreshments and cakes. Feel free to bring your own picnic – please come along and support your local village Band.
